The Last of Us

The Last of Us is a zombie-apocalypse adventure game with a heavy focus on narrative. It centres predominantly around the psuedo father-daughter relationship between two survivors, Joel and Ellie.

Genre: Third person action adventure

Developer: Naughty Dog

Platforms: Playstation 3, Remastered version on Playstation 4

Good for: Fans of zombie fiction, end-of-the-world apocalypse scenarios and anyone looking for something with a strong narrative focus.

Less good for: Anyone looking for a bit of mindless action. The combat mechanics are tight, but nothing really feels good about getting into a scrap.

Summary:

The Last of Us was one of the last titles to be developed for the Playstation 3 and was handled by Naughty Dog, who by that point had become long-serving veterans when it came to working with Sony’s systems and as a result, what they delivered is a technical marvel. The Remastered Edition for the Playstation 4 equally looks stunning and all of that visual fidelity is heaped on top of an incredibly solid game.
